Cool Science is all about making science – actually Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math (STEAM) – cool for kids, just like sports, music and art! We do this by traveling throughout Colorado, mostly up and down the front range from our base in Colorado Springs, but also to several mountain and western slope communities (and even into Wyoming), bringing our unique blend of cool demonstration shows and hands-on STEAM activities to elementary and middle schools and libraries year-round. Best of all, we never turn away any school that can’t pay us.
The 2023 Colorado Springs Cool Science Festival • Sep 30 – Oct 15
Last year we expanded the festival from 9 days to 16 days to help spread out our special events a bit more. It seemed to work well, so we’re back again with 16 days of fun and engaging events designed to showcase STEAM where it’s taking place in Colorado Springs and around the Pikes Peak Region. There are events for all ages- adults, kids, teens and families – and most are absolutely free (some events may have a fee to help the hosts cover their costs).
Of course our biggest and most popular event, the Cool Science Carnival Day for Kids at UCCS will be Saturday, September 30th from 10 am to 4 pm. We’ll have dozens of exciting science magic shows, laboratory tours and demos, rockets, drones, live animals, liquid nitrogen ice cream and lots of other hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) activities and exhibits for kids (primarily K-8th grades). It’s all FREE (including parking) and fun for all ages!
