Since an early age I have been fascinated by the natural world, and I spent many days in the field, observing and collecting insects and small invertebrates. I started taking photographs of animals and plants when I was 14 years old, after I bought my first SLR camera. Following 10 years of enjoying film photography, I decided to move into digital photography and today I mostly use Canon’s gear.
I am also a science communicator involved in creating educational programs, encouraging people to get outside and pay more attention to small organisms in their surroundings. My photos have been featured in numerous magazines, books, newspapers, and broadcasted media. See this page for my research publications. Lastly, I am a professional keeper, breeder, and wrangler of invertebrates, and occasionally provide services for institutions interested in establishing live invertebrate displays.
