The #iamtheCODE is a pivotal movement to mobilise governments, business and investors to support young women in STEAMD (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, and Design),  through learning how to code, creative learning and cracking problems.
In Africa, young girls growing up in slums or the worst parts of the continent are often forgotten and have zero chance to find a sense of creative direction.
With over 65 Million girls being denied access to basic education, a new bold vision on girl’s education is imperative if we want to create the next digital leaders.
The evidence shows that if we do not break down barriers and help move girls in the technology industry forward through inclusion, we will be creating layers of citizenship and a digital divide in our society.
What is unique about this movement?
#iamtheCODE is a movement of direct action for the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development to improve economic outcomes for girls. If Africa wants to be part of the Global Digital Revolution, we must invest in our young women and their future. We believe Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics and Design (STEAMD) will play a great role in the measurement of the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goals 4, 5, 8 and 9 which are Education, Gender Equality and Innovation to assure that No One is left behind.
#iamtheCODEÂ will harness a proven methodology to work with governments, business and investors to support young women break the code, find work and become digital leaders.
