The Voices Behind the Podcast
JEFF ATKINSTerrestrial EcologyJeff is a postdoctoral researcher at Virginia Commonwealth University and a Visiting Scientist at the University of Virginia. His research focuses on ecosystem structure and function relationships, primarily centered on how canopy structural complexity influences ecosystem processes. He used to have strong feelings about the Oxford comma and enjoys strong coffee, bitter beer, and the Red Sox. He has a wonderful wife who is way out of his league and two awesome kids. |
JON WALTERPopulation EcologyJon is a postdoctoral researcher at Virginia Commonwealth University and University of Kansas. His research seeks to understand spatiotemporal patterns in population dynamics through a combination of empirical and theoretical approaches. Jon occasionally takes time away from research to build custom furniture, because his tastes are expensive but his budget is Ikea. |
GRACE WILKINSONLimnologyGrace is an Assistant Professor at Iowa State University. Her research on aquatic-terrestrial linkages focuses on water quality, regime shifts, and carbon biogeochemistry in lakes. When Grace isn’t on the lakes or in the lab she would normally be scuba diving, traveling, or baking cupcakes. She looks forward to having hobbies again after she gets tenure. |
