The Hosts
Dr. Leena Eve Williams
Dr. Leena Williams is a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Geneva, studying brain plasticity, or how the brain changes in response to our environment, in the somatosensory cortex, where touch is processed. She received her PhD in Biology with a Neurobiology focus in 2012 at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and she received her Masters of Arts in Medical Sciences and Bachelors of Science in Biology at Loyola University Chicago. She choose neuroscience because the brain is the most complex and elegant living system in the known universe. She is inspired to discover how brain circuits control all of human thought and memories.

Dr. Shannon Wolfman
Dr. Shannon Wolfman is a post-doctoral researcher studying drug addiction at the University of Geneva. She received her PhD in Neurobiology at the University of Chicago in 2016, and her undergraduate degree in Neurobiological Sciences at the University of Florida (Go Gators!) in 2010. Throughout her post-high school education, she has done neuroscience research focusing on compulsive behaviors in animal models of human disorders. She was drawn to neuroscience because the brain is responsible for all behavior, and she wanted to understand the biological reasons that people behave in ways that are detrimental to their well-being.
